Uh, I'm flattered...

I had an uncomfortable experience at work.

I'm at a client's office, helping them with some printer integration. The Network Admin comes it. It's a chick. She keeps staring at me and getting all nervous. After a few minutes, she needs to go back to her desk for a CD.

When she returns, she brings a friend along to stare at me, too. About 20 minutes of this before I'm done and they can leave.

My actual customer was just sitting hack and silently laughing.

They were not attractive, either.

  2. Jamie you kill me LOL. Roland why is it that you have no problem telling when a not so nice looking woman likes you but not when a good looking one does?

  7. Because the "not so nice looking girls" were just staring and giggling. They seemed slightly less-subtle than most other women who I suspected in liking me.

If any girl stares and giggles at me, I get it. I can tell. But, this is a rarity.

My pledge to you all is this. If an available girl/woman, who I find attractive enough in some way, blushes, giggles, or finds some lame excuse to talk to me, I'll talk back.

Personally, I'd be flattered at them finding a lame excuse to talk to me. I'm just asking that they do some of the work.

I can accept this. I am trusting that your standard for "attractive enough" isn't going to give you a way of avoiding the whole she-bang.

  9. JAmie I love your choice of words - she-bang!!! Sorry I couldn't resist!

Roland it has been my experience that when you give a guy numerous openings they just don't take them. I have watched male friends do the same thing.

A girl gives them a bunch of openings to ask her out and is plainly interested and they do nothing. Then when she is gone they sit there and say that they are into this girl but she did not seem to like them. You point out all the signs (very obvious and the openings) but its too late. A girl will only try for so long before giving up thinking he isn't into them.

I have done it (give up) and I am far more patient and give plain clues and big openings and guys still don't figure it out. I have friends that I did that with and now they say they soooo wanted and still want to date me. Too late now though.

So just don't stand there with that glazed look on your face. If there is an opening for a coffee or a movie take it!

  11. She-bang? Wow.

"Attractive enough" is pretty easy to hit.

Wait. That didn't come out right...

"Attractive enough" is not that hard to be. 5-10% of all women on the street are attractive enough, depending on the street.

  12. Wow Roland! 5 to 10% of all women on the street are attractive enough? That not a lot. What would be attractive enough then?

  13. "Wow Roland! 5 to 10% of all women on the street are attractive enough?"

    Depending on the street... ;)

I thought I was being generous. Come on, look around.

"That not a lot. What would be attractive enough then?"

I'm not saying physically attractive, only. There are a boatload of women that are physically attractive enough. But, after you weed out the losers, you're down to 5-10%

  14. hmmm ok I can deal with that. I know Jamie and I both fall into that 5 to 10% so its all good :D
