There is a silent war going on behind the closed and perpetrator's-height marked doors of the convenience stores. Peanut used to come in 1oz packets. A reasonable serving size, I think.
A couple of years ago, one vendor bumped it up to 1.25 ounces and took the lead. Another bumped it to 1.33. Then it was 1.5 ounces.
For the last few years, it's been 1.75 oz per package. Until now.
Now, for the low price of 59¢ -- or two for a dollar -- you can have 1.8 ounces of peanuts.
...and 330 calories.
Did you know that a normally suggested serving of peanuts is one ounce, and about 180 calories?
Yes, I know I can save the other .8 ounces for tomorrow.
